Las Vegas, Nevada (January): The importance of regular conventions to the Las Vegas economy has been underemphasized. Gaming revenues have significantly declined for the past few years and as a consequence, hotel revenues have also fallen down in the same direction for the past few years. When gaming revenue declines, the economy of Las Vegas becomes more dependent on convention attendance and the tourist industry. This is why the city of Las Vegas needs the consistent attendance of exhibitiors and attendees alike each and every year so that it will recover from this freefall. Examples of such conventions are the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and the Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE), unrelated to each other but coincidentally occurring on the same dates. Enclosed are past photographs of these AEE conventions and the importance of maintaining these in Las Vegas due to the high number of attendance from other parts of the country. At the beginning of each year, the AEE conventions fill the numerous hotel rooms and restaurants in the world-famous Las Vegas strip consistently maitaining employment and revenue in the service industry which are important to the local economy. Such conventions are extremely important in the immediate and forseeable future as the success of the ever evolving city of Las Vegas may demand. As the US economy shows signs of recovery, we all expect the attendance for future AEE shows to increase even more. (All photographs taken by and text written by Rene L.
